However, the 2012 US Surgeon General's report states that only 1% of smokers begin smoking after their 26th birthday, making college and university campuses a critical target for tobacco cessation and prevention efforts. This initiative aims to help individuals and institutions: examine the benefits of tobacco-free or smoke-free campus policies; connect to resources and examples from across the country and within our state; and encourage campuses to join the movement in Vermont. We look forward to working with you.
